Forget the Future

As Christians, we always hear, that we need to let go of the past. We have a new name, and that we’re born in Christ, but what about our future?

So, something happened at work that’s doubled my workload. (BLAH!) I’m frantically trying to get everything done, I’m flooded by images of how bad it’ll be when I come back to work the next day.

I’m already overwhelmed, and nothing’s happened. Literately, this situation has yet to even really affect me. However, because I’m worrying about how this WILL (future tense) affect me, it’s causing me to freak out. How am I letting something that I’ve created hurt me so much?

Jesus defeated the grave, he can defeat my situation.

Here are some verses I’m holding onto to let go of the future, and I’m declaring about my future.

“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”  Isaiah 40:31
He will provide me the strength to do all the work I have to.

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
No one will get mad at me if I can not complete everything, because God is for me.

“Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.” Proverbs 12:25

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
He is working on something even better, than I can imagine.

What are your favorite verses for when you’re down?
