Verses to Cling To: When You Can’t Hear God’s Voice

God can speak to us in a bazillion different ways, how He speaks to me could be completely different that how He speaks to you. (Because we’re all unique beings He speaks to us how He knows we will listen!)

First of all, make sure you a reading your Bible so that you know what His voice sounds like. If you keep reading you will learn how God speaks to His Children! He chose a burning bush to get Moses’ attention! What does He use to get your attention?

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

This is said several times in the bible. I need to reassure you that He is there and here and everywhere you go. He’s with you! He knows you and He knows what you’re struggling with even if you are too busy or distracted to notice His presence.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27

Also, make sure you are attending a church. God speaks through others often!

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 3:22

  1. A lay Finnish minister taught me this, which has been invaluable to me in discerning the will of God, and hearing His voice on the practical level:

Col. 3:15 – LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] BE THE CONTROLLING FACTOR in your hearts [DECIDING AND SETTLING QUESTIONS THAT ARISE]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. (Amplified)

The inner peace of the Holy Spirit will guide us – there have been a number of times that I could ‘prophetically discern’ what would, or would not happen simply because I was in tune with God’s peace. I consider learning God’s peace to be the first step in hearing His voice.

Thank you for the thoughts – very encouraging, brother!
